A vacation in Hawaii would be incomplete if travelers would not get into or at the very least, go near the islands’ waters. There are plenty of water sport options that visitors could select from. These water activities are great for both beginners and experts. Listed below is some of the finest water sports that one could do while in Hawaii:

Surfing is one of the most popular water sports in the state. The island of Oahu is home to Waikiki Beach and the North Shore. These places are terrific for novice and experienced surfers. Tourists may also find some fantastic waters on both Kauai and Maui, but the true haven for surfing remains Oahu. Even children are trying out the sport and there are surfing lessons available for fans of the sport.

Scuba diving is another favorite water sport in Hawaii. The islands of Lanai and Maui are the best spots to try scuba diving. Lanai could actually be accessed from Maui by means of a boat. The island of Lanai lures scuba divers due to its extraordinary underwater formations, which is recognized as the cathedrals. The weather is a major factor when one is looking for an ideal diving spot. There are also diving tours and diving classes for people who are interested in scuba diving.

Travelers would adore snorkeling in the Hawaiian Islands, particularly in the western section of Maui. If the winds and waters are in ideal conditions, tourists could snorkel within the rim of the celebrated Molokini volcano. The waters here are so translucent that one would be able to view the fish from their boats. Some sea creatures that visitors might see include some angelfish or even a few sharks. The boat rides going to and from the snorkeling area is already half the fun that one could experience here.

Tourists who want to get into the waters and not just float on it should try snuba diving. This is a sport that merges snorkeling with scuba diving. The best place to try snuba diving is on the Hanauma Bay located on the southeastern shores of Oahu. What would allow guests to breathe underwater is 20 feet long air line that is linked to a scuba tank and is also floated on a raft on the water’s surface. Visitors would be able to discover the multicolored reefs and the different species of tropical fish. Oahu’s Hanauma Bay is the perfect choice due to its ancient reef that teems with various sea beings.

Kayaking is another water sport that can be thoroughly enjoyed in Hawaii. For ideal kayaking, the Huleia National Wildlife Refuge situated in Kauai is the best place to start. This is a fairly calm river to paddle, complete with laidback currents and gorgeous scenery. The best thing here is that the route winds found in the site were utilized in the Indiana Jones movies, thereby allowing passengers to use the sturdy ropes to swing themselves into the waters.

Aside from those mentioned above, travelers could also engage in rafting, fishing, boating, and parasailing, among others. There are water sports available for practically everyone and not all of them involve swimming, so non-swimmers need not worry about it. The only thing important for tourists to know is that the water sports in Hawaii would always involve exciting adventures and fun experiences like no other.
