The engaging nightlife in the Hawaiian Islands typically starts at sunset, for nothing beats the delight of witnessing a natural and beautiful spectacle such as the setting of the sun. But not all the islands have a vibrant nightlife.

On Lanai, the only usual nightlife spots are the Lanai Playhouse in addition to its two resorts, namely the Four Seasons Resort Lanai and The Lodge at Koele. The Lanai Playhouse is a remarkable 1920s structure that has gathered several awards for the renovations made on this building. When this 150-seater site opened back in 1993, it surprised the locals by presenting films with Dolby sound. This was quite modern for the old-fashioned island.

In the great hall of The Lodge at Koele, local musicians croon to the guests with classical, contemporary Hawaiian music, as well as other genres. Their special programs take place during weekends, but on weekdays, they still show some nightly entertainment from 7 until 10 in the evening.

On the island of Maui, the nightlife choices are very limited. People usually set out to Maui Brews, which is situated in Lahaina or to Casanova, which is located in Makawao. Since these two places are in various sections of this extensive island, revelers would need to travel far to these two clubs or they could just check out the events in the major hotels close to them. These hotels normally contain lobby lounges that provide mellow jazz, hula performances, or Hawaiian music that also begins at sunset.

On the island of Oahu, the nightlife is truly alive. There are dinner performances, night clubs, symphony concerts, as well as sporting events. Each evening on Oahu provides one with a variety of activities. Night owls who are looking for some action do not have to leave Waikiki. There are countless night clubs in the area that could prove delightful to avid party-goers. Tourists could also catch some fantastic dinner shows that feature Island legends such as the Society of Seven, Don Ho, or John Hirokawa, who is a renowned illusionist. Those seeking a happy and light evening should come and see the much loved Hawaii comedians such as Mel Cabang, Andy Bumatai and Frank De Lima.

Visitors would also love the Waikiki Shell. This is an exceptional open-air concert venue that is located close to the Kapiolani Park. The Waikiki Shell could seat up to roughly 2,400 spectators, and its vast lawn section has adequate capacity to hold some extra 6,000 viewers.

Honolulu’s Neal Blaisdell Center is one busy place that presents several special events as well as concerts. The downtown neighborhood of Honolulu also contains the Aloha Tower Marketplace and the Restaurant Row. These are two restaurant and shopping locations that are the preferred nightspots for both tourists and locals. Within the vicinity, one could also come across a few night clubs that present every kind of music and some live entertainment could also be found in the area.

Hawaii does not only offer some world-class beaches, but it also presents tourists with some fabulous nightlife. Evening entertainment has never been at its best and one could only find it here in the dreamy Hawaiian Islands.
